Just as he did on day one, Russell talked to everyone, showing his immunity idol to anyone who would look at it. He also formulated a plan to get rid of Laura, ending the Laura/Monica alliance. Project Runway: Caring Is Creepy
6 Nov 2009 | 2:50 pmHey guys. Hello fashionistas, how's it hangin' fashionistos. Well, that's that, almost. We've just one sweepy, swooshy, swishy episode left of this florid little heap of a reality show before they pack up the boxes and leave LA to the dogs. Oh thank ye gods. This has been such a lame-duck season, so turdy and uneventful. I'm pretty sure we're all just whiling away the hours until it's gone and we can have some sliver of our Thursday nights back. And what about you, Lifetime? Was it good for you? I doubt that it was. Anyway, because I'm sort of disillusioned with this season, and I've already… -

She's a salesperson now. Her husband was just promoted to co-regional manager. Her mom is dating the other co-regional manager, who happens to be Michael Scott (Steve Carell). And Michael just dumped her mom. But did Pam really have to punch him? It was totally out of character—and a little too cheap for The Office. And what about her having the "lowest sales performance" and the "worst attitude" in the office? Her sour face has been… -
Survivor: A Tribe Divided Cannot Stand
6 Nov 2009 | 1:02 pmWell, that was exciting, wasn't it? If we were really honest with ourselves, we could all admit that this season of Survivor had, until last night, been something of a snooze-fest. I mean, Foa Foa just kept losing, girls just kept getting voted off, and Probst kept being snide about people's failures while pretending to be sympathetic. There were few twists and/or turns, no watercooler moments, nothing buzzy but the bugs. Perhaps sensing this creeping tedium, at Day 18 or so, the producers threw their ace card in the pot and called a merge. A merge! Oh how exciting! Two tribes become one,…

Kim’s “Don’t Be Tardy For The Party” Live Surpasses Our Every Wish
6 Nov 2009 | 12:47 pmLast night, we got our last little nugget of joy charity from this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as part 2 of the Reunion aired on Bravo. The hour offered many a chuckle, mainly stemming from Dwight and his Angry Inches (penile implants… tre tre tre declasse). But host/Bravo Exec Andy Cohen isn’t stupid. Because anyone with half a brain would realize what America really wants: Kim Zolciak sing her hit song “Don’t Be Tardy For The Party.” Spoiler alert: It’s the best f**king thing you will ever see and/or hear. When the aliens come for us, show… -

Start The Bubblebath… It’s Saxophone Day
6 Nov 2009 | 10:51 amYes, there is an official holiday called Saxophone Day, in celebration of the classical instrument invented all the way back in 1840. (Hol’ up: Did they have slow jamz back then? Yes.) So, to celebrate this instrument that was the cause for many a lovemaking session back in the late 80s/early 90s, we bring your our two favorite not to mention most obvious saxophone related clips. First up, a classic: Bill Clinton blowing the horn on The Arsenio Hall Show nearly 20 years ago. There’s a reason why LL Cool B, and it’s this. This is why he was elected President of both the… -
Yankees + Suits = GQ MOTHERF*CKERS.
6 Nov 2009 | 10:20 amHere are your National Champion New York Yankees, all suited up for yesterday’s taping of Late Show with David Letterman. Only, they’ve ditched the pinstriped for sharkskin. And we know it’s trite and common to talk about how hot Derek Jeter is… But camman. He is. To die for. And if you missed the actual interview (which we’ve posted ahead), your love for him will only grow deeper and more complicated, because he’s also funny. We had the pleasure of (name drop!) meeting him once, and even though his pants were belted a little too high, and his fade had sort… -

Thursday Ratings: Fringe Hangs by a Thread
6 Nov 2009 | 4:19 pmJust because FOX benefitted from the World Series doesn’t mean its programs did. Last night’s return of Fringe hit a series low in the demos. The night our warm-up guy turned on the audience
6 Nov 2009 | 7:33 pmTuesday was election day (I learned on Wednesday). I am reminded of the election episode my partner, David and I wrote for the TONY RANDALL SHOW.I’ll pause for a moment while you say “what the hell was the TONY RANDALL SHOW?" It was an MTM series in the late 70’s starring the late Tony Randall as a judge in Philadelphia. It’ll probably never be shown again but it was a damn funny show. Below is the opening and closing title sequences. (It's amazing we had any time to actually do the show, the opening titles were so friggin' long.)In this particular episode, Tony’s character runs for… -
How do we determine screen credits?
5 Nov 2009 | 7:37 pmWelcome to Friday question day. If you have one the comments section beckons.gottacook asks:Ken, since you've been on an arbitration committee, could you perhaps write a little about the process when a credit is contested? Just in a general sense, without mention of any specific movie or TV script?First off the arbitration process offers great protection to writers. It prevents directors and producers and producers' mistresses from just slapping their names on scripts. To get screen credit you need to earn it.This is a topic that could fill a book but here’s just the brief overview. When… -

HAPPY HOLIDAYS? NOT FOR STARS: Jim Carrey's & George Clooney's Movies Open Soft Friday
6 Nov 2009 | 11:37 pmFRIDAY PM/SATURDAY AM: If there's a Christmas-themed movie opening in November, then it's the official start of the holiday box office. (Hey, no studio waits for Thanksgiving anymore...) In 1st place: Disney's A Christmas Carol. Hollywood predicted the 3-D family film to make at least $35M and possibly even $40M this weekend because of its wide release into 3,683 theaters domestically, including 2,035 3-D locations and 181 IMAX screens). Exclusive: Mad Men Creator Discusses the Kennedy Assassination
6 Nov 2009 | 3:23 pmBefore Mad Men's third season, fans wondered when, as in what year, series creator Matthew Weiner would resume the story. There was reason for the anticipation: In the Season2 finale, Betty (January Jones) revealed to reformed womanizer Don (Jon Hamm) that she was pregnant, and viewers were curious how that would play out. But more significantly, everyone wondered whether or not Weiner would skip over the Nov. 22, 1963, assassination of President John F. Kennedy. First Look: GLEE Club Heats Up
6 Nov 2009 | 4:47 pmWondering why Kurt looks so happy? Well, if we had to guess, it probably has a little something to do with GLEE’s upcoming November 18 episode entitled “Ballad” where he’ll find himself hooking up with Finn. In the musical sense that is (seriously slash fiction writers, get your heads out of the gutter!) when Mr. Schuester splits the Glee Club into pairs to sing their favorite ballad. The Family Stone
6 Nov 2009 | 3:17 pmOne of my current guilty pleasures is The Well, a short form haunted house adventure produced by BBC Switch, the slightly hazy department brought in when it was decided that the BBC Childrens shouldn’t cater for anyone over the age of twelve to offer something to older teenagers, in this case one of those 360 degree productions that also includes a computer game on the website. You’ve probably heard of it before because it’s also the very horror drama Karen Gillan recorded before moving to Cardiff and though its slender plot-based running time (the episodes are about eight minutes long)… -
Love And Marriage
6 Nov 2009 | 4:15 amSarah Jane Adventures: The Wedding Of Sarah Jane Smith Well, we had no need to worry. The idea of the Doctor popping up in one of the parent series' offspring shows could have gone so horribly wrong. What is so striking about the two episodes of The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith is that everyone gets their due - Sarah and the kids (a proto-Doctor with her own companions) and the Doctor, K9, the Trickster - and writer Gareth Roberts deftly balances all the elements in a breathlessly energetic narrative. What I like about Roberts' approach here is that, although this is yet another view… -
Fear Itself
3 Nov 2009 | 2:43 amEven with Big Finish’s rather fabulous special release The Company of Friends, the idea of dealing with the Eighth Doctor in a past/missing/lost adventure/story context is still a fairly rare, some might say unusual concept. There have only been a few short fictions, the flashback sections of Wolfsbane and a vignette in IDW’s The Forgotten comic strip, for the simple reason that with the exception of the TV movie, Eighth has been defined in three different ways by three different publishers and it’s incredibly difficult to sell a character which the majority of the great unwashed only… -
The Adventures Of Titular Timelord In The Second Long Dimension
30 Oct 2009 | 3:04 pmBefore the gap year, one idea I wish they’d thought about was to have the Doctor crop up in other shows, but only ever in the background, rather like the knitted toy from Harry Hill’s TV Burp. So we’d see the timelord, screwdriver in hand, running down the corridors of Holby City, chatting with the gardener in Jane Austen’s Hartfield, looking slightly annoyed as part of the studio audience on Strictly (presumably keep an eye on her sargacity) and the TARDIS sitting once again in Albert Square (finally canonising, once and for all Dimensions in Time). A scheduling nightmare for David… -

27 Oct 2009 | 9:00 amHaving enjoyed the first seven of the Watcher’s guides to the Doctor’s various incarnations that are being used to bulk out Doctor Who Magazine during the off season, I was quite looking forward to the Eighth Doctor survey, wondering how they were going to boil down into four pages eight or nine years worth of stories and all of that history. Disappointing, the Watcher elected to celebrate the Paul McGann era by talking about the other Doctors a lot more and then after mention the spin-offs in passing on one page, decided on the opposite side that he’d only in fact had one companion…

Review: Sons of Anarchy - Fa Guan
7 Nov 2009 | 12:52 am(S02E09) - "I know the greater devil when I see it." - Deputy Chief Hale to Clay The great thing about a show like Sons of Anarchy is you never exactly know when you're watching its true boiling point. You might think the situation you're watching is the apex of the conflict, particularly the beef between Clay and Jax, but it always finds an interesting and surprising way of making it worse and makes you forget that it still has more episodes to go. That's the true sign of a good series. It sucks you in and erases any and all concept of time. Unlike other TV shows that you can just have in… -
Review: Smallville - Kandor
6 Nov 2009 | 10:08 pm(S09E07) If Smallville continues to produce episodes of good quality like tonight's, I may have to take back some of the things I've been saying about it. Seriously. Tonight we got a lot of backstory and explanation about some of the stranger aspects of the Smallville universe. Why is Earth such a magnet for Kryptonians, dead or otherwise? Because Krypton has been observing Earth for a long, long time and designated the planet as a bolt-hole. We also learned more about that Kryptonian artifact that has been a mystery in Smallville for a few seasons now. All this and no Lois, too.Continue… -

What an episode to start reviews with! The first episode of November Sweeps offered us more backstory and mythology about the shadows, some of their powers, the book ... and Jennifer Love Hewitt in lingerie doing some pole dancing! Comedy Central wants a bite of The Onion
6 Nov 2009 | 5:04 pmPart of me is surprised that this deal took this long to happen. But when you watch the recent crop of new shows on the Chortle Network (with the exception of Tosh.0), it really shouldn't surprise anyone. Comedy Central has ordered a half-hour scripted pilot based on the Onion's Sports Network. The OSN is part of the popular satirical magazine's online TV news network that launched a little under a year ago. This isn't the first time the network has tried to do a satirical sports show. Comedy Central also shot a pilot for a Daily Show-esque sports show called Sports Central that died in the… -
Scripps gobbles up the Travel Channel
6 Nov 2009 | 4:25 pmWhile NBC juggles its possible new owner, another TV takeover went down this week in the epicenter of its shadow. Scripps Networks won the right to buy the "controlling stake" in The Travel Channel from Cox Communications and it only cost them $181 million to earn a 65 percent stake in the cable network. Only $181 million? Did Cox put The Travel Channel up for sale at a flea market? Why did they jump at a deal for a network with such a small audience? Slate's Troy Patterson says that even though the audience is small, it's a "niche market" that "advertisers can't resist pandering to." [via…

Mad Men Finale: Programming Note

More 'Party Down' to arrive in spring (plus Megan Mullally's other comedy gig)
4 Nov 2009 | 1:34 pmI know the headline above is a little on the boring side, but I was trying to avoid the obvious "Let's get this party started -- again!" headline. And I couldn't come up with something more creative on short notice. In any case, don't let the rather blah headline make you think I'm not excited about the return of "Party Down." The show, which returns to Starz in April, is a delight. I anxiously await more adventures with the cater-waiters of the Party Down crew. The one downside to the new season is that Jane Lynch's new gig on "Glee" -- where she's consistently one of the best things about… -

'Bruno' deleted scenes featuring La Toya Jackson
6 Nov 2009 | 7:26 pmThe "Bruno" DVD is being released Nov. 17 but the La Toya Jackson deleted scenes are available right here.In this scene, cut from the movie out of respect for Michael Jackson and his family, Sacha Baren Cohen's Bruno interviews La Toya Jackson while they eat sushi off a fat, naked man. La Toya doesn't seem to be in on the joke. She tries to actually field the questions, even when Cohen asks her to pretend to be Michael or tries to find MJ's number on La Toya's cell phone. The scene is uncomfortable. Really the only funny part of the deleted scene is the very beginning, where Bruno tries first… -

Supernatural Season 5 Episode 8: Changing Channels
6 Nov 2009 | 7:48 pmIn one fell swoop, Supernatural managed to combine a humorous episode with one that advances the season-long Mega-Apocalypse storyline. Trapped in a Trickster’s paradise which conveniently resembles (thinly veiled parodies of) television shows, the Winchester boys discover the identity of this candy-loving Trickster and just how large a role he plays in the war between angels, demons, and humanity. Things open up “before a live studio audience” and Sammy and Dean mugging the camera on a sitcom-esque set. And for the first time ever, Supernatural has a theme song with awesomely… -
Smallville Season 9 Episode 7: Kandor
6 Nov 2009 | 7:10 pmIn a Lois-free, soap opera drama-free, Smallville finally makes some decent headway on the Kandorian/Kryptonian storyline, revealing the source of Zod and Jor-El’s rivalry. (Julian Sands guest stars as Clark’s Kryptonian pappy, a more than acceptable substitute for Terence Stamp.) Several other major reveals are dropped, including Tess’s knowledge of Clark/Kal-El’s true identity and origins. All in all, this was a refreshing change of pace from the love story-centric episodes of the past few weeks. Things kick off with a flashback of Major Zod (and the rest of the Kandorian…

"Flash Forward" Jumps Into Gear with "The Gift" (Spoilers)
5 Nov 2009 | 9:30 pmOkay, "Flash Forward" grabbed me tonight more than it has since the pilot. Before, the most macabre moment was the grainy surveillance video of the lone moving figure in the stadium. You know, the only person still awake during the worldwide human black out that sets everything in motion. Tonight's episode, "The Gift" wasn't macabre, but it it certainly knocked the wind out of me. It was all about the uncertainty of the flashes forward. Are they or are they not inevitable?FBI agents Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes), Demetri Noh (John Cho) and Al Gough (Lee Thompson Young, pictured left)… -
"Mad Men's" Betty Draper and the Death of JFK
3 Nov 2009 | 12:37 pmIt took the death of the President of the United States to shake Betty Draper (January Jones) out of her unhappy, little Stepford world and make her shove on the flaps of her hermetically sealed, suburban envelope . Not that Betty hasn't shown flashes of defiance before. Like last season when she challenged her husband Don (Jon Hamm) about his chippies on the side and then thought nothing of a public bathroom quickie with a stranger. But this was the Big Kahuna. The, "I don't love you anymore" speech. Of course she still delivered it in her prim and prissy, Stepford way but even Don… -

Balloon Boy, Reality TV and Twitter: Seeing Was Believing
21 Oct 2009 | 3:00 amLast week's Balloon Boy story had to be seen to be believed. Literally. It was a perfect example of the media deciding because there were pictures, there was a story. Without the live video of the silvery, homemade flying machine gliding across the skies of Colorado would so many people around the world have been so emotionally invested in the fate of 6 year-old Falcon Heene who they thought was inside? Picture the whole episode as a radio story. How would we have felt then? Before we discuss some of the more serious Balloon Boy issues, check out the "Saturday Night Live" Balloon…

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan
1 Nov 2009 | 10:22 amBefore I share my thoughts about the telemovie, I have to say this: If you haven’t seen it yet and don’t want to be spoiled, click away NOW. Consider yourself warned. So the idea behind “The Plan,” ostensibly, was to tell the untold story of the Cylons. The plan they had when they attacked the Colonies in the miniseries. Problem is, The Plan itself boiled down to, “First thing we do, let’s kill all the humans.” (With apologies to Shakespeare.) We knew that already. What this telemovie did – and did quite well – was to explain what happened… -
Heroes: The end is nigh?
30 Oct 2009 | 12:59 pmI rarely root for a series I once loved to end, but an exception could certainly be made for Heroes. Looks like I could easily get my wish, as Airlock Alpha (once syfy.com, before the SciFi Channel became SyFy) reports that NBC sources say Heroes is being asked to wrap up its entire story by season’s end. An unidentified source was quoted as saying: There isn’t much happening with this show in terms of audience, and giving it a ‘final chapter’ feel is something the network is considering to help allow the show to go out with a bang. As I wrote earlier this season, even… -

14 Oct 2009 | 6:21 pmJack Bauer, counter-terrorist extraordinaire, has announced that he will no longer be a minority-share owner in a Jamba Juice franchise set to open in St. Louis, MO.Bauer, who was reported to have eaten the neck of a terrorist holding him hostage several years ago, was the subject of controversy when his participation in the smoothie restaurant venture was announced. Various groups protested Bauer's past statement as "contrary to the… -
September 11th
10 Sep 2009 | 9:41 pmThere have been millions of words written about September 11th over the past eight years, and well... here are a few more you can add to the pile. While I did not lose any friends or loves ones, I had a few acquaintances that died in the World Trade Center. I still have my ID badge from when I used to work there, up until a year before the attacks. Looking back, there are some parts that feel emotionally distant now, but the details are completely burned into my memory. POINT BLANK and THE GENERAL: The Jack Sack Movie Review
29 Aug 2009 | 2:14 pmThere are two types of people in this world- those who wait on lines and the ones who cut them. I happen to like the cutters. Apparently, so does director John Boorman. Tonight's double-feature includes two of Boorman's best movies featuring these "lone wolf" types. The first is POINT BLANK (1967), starring Lee Marvin as Walker- a crook who was double-crossed by his pal and his wife and left for dead. Sound familiar? Mel Gibson's PAYBACK was based on the same source material- the novel "The Hunter" by Richard Stark (a.k.a. Donald Westlake). Before getting to the movie in detail, just know that… -
Goodbye, NFL
13 Aug 2009 | 6:18 pmPoor Stanley Wilson-- he was born 20 years too early.Wilson was a tough, talented fullback for the Cincinnati Bengals during the late 1980s. He was less than 24 hours away from playing in the biggest game of his life, Super Bowl XXIII, when he got caught by one of his own coaches in the midst of a little cocaine binge. Wilson was benched by his head coach and subsequently banned from the NFL (three-strikes and you're out, this was Stanley's third strike). The Bengals needed him to win the game and coach Sam Wyche, decided that Wilson disqualified himself when he broke his word to keep clean. -
It's Been A While...
18 Jul 2009 | 8:03 pmSo, it's been a couple of months since my last post- there's been some off-season "24" news that other sites have covered, which I'm sure the more conscientious of my readers have tracked down- so, I've felt no duty to recycle that content here. Soon enough (post-Comic Con, maybe) I'll do a Season 8 news roundup. But in the meantime, sit tight good people.I've nothing staggering to report on my end of this keyboard. I am, however, witnessing a world that is baffling me at present (the news is pretty depressing lately, don't you agree?). So, I've taken to some pleasant Summer distractions,…

‘Bones’ Star Eric Millegan Outs Self as Bipolar
28 Oct 2009 | 1:12 pmFans of Fox’s hit show ‘Bones‘ probably remember Eric Millegan as the awkward Zack Addy, a co-worker of Dr. Brennan with a penchant for serial killing. Millegan’s character turned out to be working for a cannibal before getting caught in the act. No matter the gruesome nature of his role on ‘Bones,’ Millegan was a rather fun guy to be around. I had the pleasure interviewing him right before his Los Angeles cabaret debut back in 2007 and was impressed with his musical theatre roots. I’m now impressed more so with Millegan after reading an interview the… -

With approximately 12 million viewers an episode, when factoring in On Demand and DVR, ‘True Blood’ is a smash. Series creator Alan Ball, who also created HBO’s ‘Six Feet Under,’ has bred a cult following for ‘True Blood’ with star Stephen Moyer causing ladies to swoon. Moyer even got co-star Anna Paquin weak in the knees — the two recently became engaged. With nauseatingly good storylines full of blood, guts and… -
61st Primetime Emmy Awards Live Blogging
20 Sep 2009 | 4:32 pmThe 61st Primetime Emmy Awards are upon us just as the Fall season readies itself for consumption. More importantly, however, is the return of E!’s red carpet coverage and Ryan Seacrest, the master of cheese. Oh how I’ve missed our pre-Awards show relationship. You know, the one in which I laugh as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie diss the ‘American Idol’ host while walking the red carpet. But, tonight is not about mundane red carpet interviews rather it is an evening to celebrate the best television offerings from last season. The uber-talent Neil Parick Harris is hosting…

Real Housewives of Orange County Start Out Swinging
6 Nov 2009 | 10:33 amThe Real Housewives franchise has taken kind of a dark turn and this new Orange County season looks like it’s no exception. I guess that’s what happens when no one has any money anymore. At least on Million Dollar Listing, there are pretty houses to covet. These women just make me sad. They don’t even have the hilarious delusion of the Atlanta women. I just want to watch an over the top, blinged out Botox babe drink Cosmos and drive her Hummer around, not these depressing messes. I hope new housewife Alexis Bellino brings some of the camp back, which she just might,… -
The Truth Behind The Orbit Salon From Tabatha’s Salon Takeover
5 Nov 2009 | 1:02 pmWho watched Tabatha’s Salon Takeover this Tuesday night? Did it make you want a bleached-blonde, Australian bad ass in your life telling you to ship up or ship out? Oh wait, maybe that’s only my reaction. In the first episode, Tabatha tackled cleaning up Chicago’s Orbit Salon and even fired a surly hair stylist, Lindsay. In my usual travels around the Internet, I discovered that Lindsay has been hired back by the Orbit Salon, which honestly I kind of saw coming. In an article for The Chicago Sun-Times, a few more pieces of information on the filming are divulged, including:… -
Real Housewives of Orange County Season 5 Photos
5 Nov 2009 | 12:25 pmTonight’s the night, y’all! We’ve hung out in the Hamptons with our fabulous friends, gotten our hair done and flipped tables with our bridge and tunnel divas in New Jersey*, been tardy for the party at the W OTP with those klassy Southern belles and now it’s time to return to where it all started: Orange County. Bravo was kind enough to create a video letting you know what went down last season, but I trust that none of you need a refresher. And if you do here’s my recap: Gretchen gets drunk, Tamra gets bitchy, Vicki goes crazy, Lynne acts high, and Jeana is… -
Top Chef Takes A Trip Down Memory Lane
4 Nov 2009 | 2:30 pmWhen I first read a description of tonight’s Top Chef episode, a dinner for some of the most controversial chef-testants including Season 1’s Tiffani and Season 2’s Marcel, hosted by Season 5’s Fabio Viviani, I was skeptical. Top Chef is usually where I go to get a break from the usual Bravo dramatics, and I don’t want wig-pulling in my classy little Wednesday night. However, I just saw a preview clip from tonight’s episode and it’s looking really interesting. All the former contestants start to talk openly about how they were portrayed on the show… -
Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley Are Having A Really Bad Day
4 Nov 2009 | 2:13 pmOne minute you’re strategic business alliance/true luv 4 eva Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley hot and posing for “candid” photos, the next all your business is up on the pages of internet tabloids Radar Online and TMZ. Let’s dig in! First, remember Gretchen’s restraining order against Jay Photoglou? The one Bravo requested to film, was denied and then she didn’t show up? Well, Jay wasn’t too happy about it and filed to recoup attorney’s fees. It was just announced that the judge ruled in his favor. If you don’t believe it, Radar has the…

North By Northwest 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray
6 Nov 2009 | 1:28 pmWhen it comes to classic movies, there aren’t many around with a shot at topping North by Northwest. The treasure of cinema fans and frequent bane of film students is now available in a wonderful Blu-Ray treatment, fully remastered, and with great bonuses. Cary Grant (as the ultimate man-on-the-run in his fourth Hitchcock teaming) gives a superlative performance while Eva Marie Saint (perfect Hitchcock heroine Eve Kendall) is at her sultry and sexy best in this heart-pounding thriller. Grant plays Manhattan adman Roger Thornhill, who is at once plunged into the world of spies and… -
Say Anything – Blu-Ray DVD 20th Anniversary Edition Review
5 Nov 2009 | 7:22 pm“To know Lloyd Dobler is to love Lloyd Dobler. Diane Court is about to know Lloyd Dobler.” So goes the tagline for one of the most iconic, beloved movies in history, and as the special features on this release will suggest repeatedly – To know Say Anything… is to love Say Anything…. Revisiting a film on its 20th Anniversary, and one that everyone already loves anyway, is probably an exercise in futility, but if the cast and director can do it, I suppose I can as well. In the simplest terms, a High School movie about: first love, entering the odd and confusing… -
Subtle Sexuality Single Hits – Fans Of The Office Roar – Special Prize Giveaway
5 Nov 2009 | 9:21 amFans of The Office are getting one amazing treat after another, and the show seems determined not to let up for a second. The wedding had fans itching for a while, and just when you thought you’d seen it all, here comes Subtle Sexuality. The Office’s Erin Hannon and Kelly Kapoor working it in and out of… well, the office, and not only are they adding their own brand of brilliance to the show, but they’ve blasted onto iTunes as well. Their single Male Prima Donna is a clever offshoot of the show’s general sensibilities and humor, and it’s tearing up the… -

Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed In At The House Of Mouse DVD
4 Nov 2009 | 8:07 amNow available on DVD, Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse has managed to become a favorite since it first hit the scene almost ten years ago. I’m actually a tough sell when it comes to animated holiday efforts (my plate is full), but this one is a great combination of stories, and it’s put together in a way that’s great fun for the kids. Mine, for example, are huge fans of all the moments that come between the main courses. Tis the season at the House of Mouse, and a huge crew of Disney characters find themselves snowed in. To take…

News Roundup: One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek
6 Nov 2009 | 7:25 pmThe New York Post has an interesting but short piece on creating the perfect CW show. The One Tree Hill Twitter account posted an adorable picture of Jackson Brundage (Jamie). EW.com has an article analyzing the Gossip Girl-Parents Television Council standoff–specifically, what’s at stake and what’s likely to happen. The Knoxville CW affiliate has gone on the record saying they will air the GG episode. New York Magazine also noticed that Gossip Girl stole the “if it walks like a duck” line from Beverly Hills 90210. According to TVShowsonDVD.com, the ninth season… -
Random Question
6 Nov 2009 | 10:09 amThese are more serious, behind-the-scenes questions. What do you think teen drama stars get paid per episode? What do you think they should get paid? I know it probably varies not only show-to-show but season-to-season. I remember it was a huge deal when the Friends cast got $1 million each per episode but I have no idea what the standard is. What are your thoughts? -
News Roundup: Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210 and Dawson’s Creek
5 Nov 2009 | 7:22 pmE! Online has a short spoilish blurb on the Gossip Girl threesome. PEOPLE.com has a poll asking if Gossip Girl is “going too far.” MTV interviewed Lady Gaga about her upcoming Gossip Girl appearance. Rolling Stone interviewed GG executive producer Stephanie Savage about Gaga’s appearance. TV Overmind has an article criticizing Gossip Girl, much like yesterday’s piece from the Daily News. Again, I’m not GG’s biggest fan–far from it–but I don’t think the picture they painted is entirely accurate. Buddy TV has a piece, too, but it really… -
Spoiler: Ask Ausiello
4 Nov 2009 | 9:44 pmRELEVANT QUESTIONS–DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!!! Question: Any word on how Navid reacts to Adrianna’s bisexuality on 90210? —David Ausiello: He reacts like you’d expect an ex-boyfriend to react: like a big ol’ ass. “Navid is a little freaked out about it,” says exec producer Rebecca Sinclair. “He’s like, ‘Whoa, what did I do? I just turned my girlfriend gay! What does this say about me!’” Question: Hey! Got any scoop about my favorite sophomore drama, 90210? —Sarah Ausiello: Hey! I do. There’s a catfight coming up between Naomi and another female… -
News Roundup: 90210, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl and Dawson’s Creek
4 Nov 2009 | 8:00 pmLast night’s 90210 (1.9 million viewers) decreased in the ratings compared to the previous new episode two weeks ago to a season-low. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Candy Spelling (wife of Aaron and mother to Tori and Randy of Beverly Hills 90210 fame) will in fact be participating in Ryan Seacrest’s new reality show, Bank of Hollywood. Just a reminder I will be interviewing Lee Norris (Mouth, One Tree Hill) later this week. Since I’ve already interviewed him, I figured this time I would use reader questions. Please comment here with your question by Friday morning. …

HANK
4 Nov 2009 | 6:33 pmTonight's HANK was doggone funny. It involves a cat and a turkey and a bath tub and a somewhat insane mother-in-law (Swoozie Kurtz). I know it's a little early for Thanksgiving shows, but this will get you in the mood to butcher your own T day.HANK is the new Kelsey Grammer half hour.
